Spent some time this last weekend with Team Eastside Cycles cleaning up abandon dog poop from in and around the local Boise foothills trails. It’s was actually a lot of fun. We brought the whole family. They got some exercise, we cleaned up a lot of poo, met some new good people, and made the foothills a little nicer. I also think it is good advocacy for the community to see a bunch of cyclist out on the trail not on their bikes.
We spend so much using these trails that putting in time doing this type of work, trail days, etc. is the least we can do. If you don’t have a team (or one you can join as they do this type of work), there are likely similar opportunities in your area through your local IMBA organizations or land trust organizations.
